Sans Frontiere has been working with Eyesite for over a decade to market this independent optical company with branches in Brighton, Oxford, Reading and Winchester. Recently our digital marketing team has been making the most of social media to effectively promote the brand and respond to daily developments.

For example last month, Essilor launched a fantastic new anti-fog spectacle lens coating called Optifog, which is available from Eyesite. That day, Optifog was discussed on BBC Radio 2 and in the Daily Mail. We sprang into action, spreading the news article out via Twitter and Facebook while also sending Eyesite press releases to local print and radio outlets in the areas in which the company has branches within 48 hours. It was marvellous to see an immediate reaction to developments in the national media that we could capitalise on.
Sans Frontiere then put up a new page on the Eyesite website devoted to Optifog and optimised the text for web searches, successfully driving interested customers to the site. We also sent immediate links to this through social media.
Social media should be an essential component in every brand’s marketing mix nowadays – and it certainly works for Eyesite. To whip up a little excitement before Christmas, the Sans Frontiere team organised an e-shot announcing details of a competition to win a £200 pair of sunglasses. The result was a large spike in website traffic and several hundred entrants into the competition – a great way awareness raising campaign for Eyesite.
